Terms

Terms of Service

Effective 27 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and WebStrides LLC, the Wyoming company that runs FluentStrides. By creating an account or using FluentStrides, you agree to them.

1. Who can use FluentStrides

You must be at least 13. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. An account is for one person; keep access to its email address secure, because that is how you sign in.

2. What FluentStrides is

FluentStrides helps you learn a language by watching real videos at your level and tracking the time you put in. Videos play in YouTube’s embedded player and belong to their creators, not to us; by using the video features you also agree to YouTube’s Terms of Service, and Google’s Privacy Policy applies to what YouTube collects. A video can be removed or made unavailable by its creator or by YouTube at any time.

Difficulty levels, transcripts and statistics are our best estimates, made partly by software. They are there to guide you, and may be wrong.

3. Plans, billing and renewal

Watching every video is free. Paid plans (Premium and Premium Plus) add statistics and other features described on the plans page, monthly or yearly. Current prices in US dollars:

The price shown at checkout is the one you pay, plus any tax that applies where you live. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel.

Paid plans are sold through Link, a service of Stripe. Link is the seller of record: it takes the payment, works out and collects sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts. At checkout you also agree to Link’s own terms, and the charge on your statement comes from Link (it starts with LINK.COM*). We provide FluentStrides itself and remain responsible for it under these terms.

If we change a price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and it takes effect at your next renewal; you can cancel before then.

4. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time in your account settings, at link.com, or by emailing us. You keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you aren’t charged again. Your account, progress and history stay on the free plan.

Payments are final. We don’t refund a charge, including for the rest of a month or year you’ve already started, except where the law requires it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn’t refund the current one.

If you live in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Your paid plan starts as soon as you subscribe, so by subscribing you ask for it to start straight away and accept that you lose that right once it has.

Because Link is the seller, you can also ask Link for help with a payment, and Link may refund a charge under its own policies. Nothing in these terms limits a refund Link gives you.

5. Using it fairly

You agree not to:

We watch for automated bulk copying. An account that looks like it’s doing it may be locked straight away; if that happens to you by mistake, email us and a person will review it.

6. What’s ours and what’s yours

FluentStrides, including its software, design, transcripts, difficulty ratings, curated catalog, and Flo the duck, belongs to WebStrides LLC. We give you a personal, non-commercial right to use it while these terms apply.

What you put in (your profile, logged time, reports and feedback) stays yours. You let us store and use it to run FluentStrides for you and, if your profile is shown to others, to show it. If you send us ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

7. The importer extension

The browser extension can bring your history over from another service. Only use it with your own account there. You can disconnect it from FluentStrides at any time in Settings.

8. Ending your account

You can stop using FluentStrides and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to by law. If we close FluentStrides or end a paid plan for reasons other than a breach, we’ll refund the unused part of any period you paid for.

9. No guarantees

We work hard to keep FluentStrides useful and running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free, or that you will reach any level of a language by a certain time.

10. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, WebStrides LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim about FluentStrides is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

11. Disagreements

If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are settled that way. If we can’t settle it within 30 days, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and either of us may take it to a court with jurisdiction. If you are a consumer outside the US, you keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory laws and can use its courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as FluentStrides changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using FluentStrides after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
